The mechanisation of linear movement, as in the transfer of materials, and the elimination of manual effort, as in pushing, pulling, lifting, clamping, pressing and cutting, are just some of the functions that can be performed by cylinders.

Avion stocks a range of cylinders from micro-cylinders to large profile barrel cylinders in both double-acting and spring-return variations.

Standardisation in the pneumatic industry has resulted in cylinders being manufactured in standard bore sizes and stroke lengths. However, many machines in South Africa still operate using original equipment which includes cylinders that were made specifically for the machine manufacturer. In many cases we have been able to assist customers by having cylinders made to the original specification.
